Support
Write to support@kindava.ai, or call (707) 240-6353. A person will answer either.
A lot of the people Kindava is for would rather pick up a phone than send an email, so the number is here and not buried. If nobody picks up, leave a message and we will ring you back.
If you are in crisis, please do not wait for us.

Connecting the app to your Kindava
- Open the app and create an account, then confirm your email.
- Press the button on your Kindava once. A six-digit code appears on its screen for a minute and a half.
- In the app, enter the name shown on the device — something like Kindava-551C14 — and that code.
We ask for the code as well as the name because the name is printed on the screen, where anybody passing can read it. Pressing the button is how we know the device is yours.
Common problems
The code has expired
Codes last five minutes and are shown for ninety seconds. Press the button again for a new one.
It says the device is already set up on another account
A Kindava belongs to one account until it is released. If it is yours, hold the button for three seconds to reset it, then set it up again.
Kindava is not responding when I speak to it
- Check the screen. If it says it is reconnecting, it has lost your wifi.
- If your wifi has changed, hold the button for three seconds to clear the old network and start setup again.
- If it has been unable to reach any network it knows for ten minutes, it offers setup again by itself.
It is too quiet
Say "Kindava, volume up" — or down. It remembers the setting through a power cut.
My recording would not send
Your words are not lost. The recording stays on the phone until it is sent, so press Send again when you have a better signal.
Your data
You can erase everything Kindava holds about you at any time, from the app or from this website. What is kept, and who it is shared with, is set out in the privacy policy and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
What Kindava is not
Kindava is a companion. It is not a therapist, not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool and not a crisis service. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice. If you need care, please speak to a clinician.
